The Best (Reasonably-Priced) Vegan and Vegetarian Restaurants in Milan

This list was compiled to give suggestions to those who appreciate those restaurants which not only include a vegetarian/vegan menu, but also include something just a little bit special, because, you know us Millenials, we want an experience as much as we want a meal: a story we can share, both with our friends and on our Instagram.

Here then are our favorite restaurants in town offering awesome and interesting vegetarian and vegan fare at a reasonable price.

ALHAMBRA | VIA S. GREGORIO 17

Ahambra is, to use a slight oxymoron, health-conscious fast food. You can choose how you want to fill your plate and then pay for it by weight. Warning: All of it is delicious and there’s a chance your eyes will be bigger than your stomach. The solution? Doggy bag it.

CRANK | VIA PASTRENGO 2

Crank is a microcosm of what things were like 50 years ago. Here you are greeted by waiters as soon as you walked through the door, and you can enjoy a fine Hugo cocktail while snacking on a toast on the black leather sofa that feels like it was taken straight out of Mad Men.

NABI | VIA CADORE 41

This is every vegetarian’s dream. You can build a sandwich with great ingredients and unexpected dips. All of this in a cheery place. Here, can truly say “this is exactly what I wanted”.

LA COLUBRINA | VIA FELICE CASATI 5

A warm and cozy restaurant. The terracotta colored walls and the fireplace dominate the dining rooms here. The lights illuminate only your words and those of your tablemates. The dishes are delicious, but other than the vegan menu, there is also a menu for fish and meat eaters.

THAT’S VAPORE | CORSO DI PORTA VITTORIA 5 

It’s not strictly a vegetarian restaurant but it offers so many choices for vege-lovers. Steam is used to cook food while maintaining its crispness and health benefits. Their smoothies are also excellent.

L’ORTO DI BRERA | VIA S. CARPOFORO 6

I have to be honest, I’d like to work in Brera only to eat here every day (luckily they also deliver). This fruit and vegetable shop promises healthy dishes that are light and high in quality –  and they keep their promises.

CAPRA E CAVOLI | VIA PASTRENGO 18

This romantic little restaurant in Via Pastrengo in the Isola neighborhood, is the perfect place to bring your friends who are pescatarians. The cakes are a must.
