Al Fresco is located in Via Savona and, as the sign says it is “a place where people and cuisine meet”. Created by the two owners, Ferdinando Ferdinandi – in the past lead the wine bar Piquenique in Via Bergognone – and Emanuele Bortolotti, agronomist and architectural engineer by profession, as a meeting place, with friends, with family, with colleagues. Not only to eat but even just to hang out and feel good, in a place that is unique in the city and full of emotions.
The restaurant is in the place of an old showroom: it was restored with the desire to have a space outside that would leave a lasting impression of uniqueness and magic. And they sure did it!
The garden was built from scratch thanks to the project studio AG&P owned by one of the partners. The furniture, a little country a little rustic-chic (crates of fruit welcome you at the entrance; watering cans on the tables, big linen napkins; etc) completes the locale which is filled with natural light.
There is a counter right in front of the open kitchen, pulsing heart of this bistro which is guided by Nicola Delfino. The “Piatto Al Fresco” at lunch changes everyday. Sweets and shaved ice are made daily. The little plate with “dipping” oil when you sit down is a real treat. They have wi-fi too.
The wine list is divided by vineyards and is very original and in constant change. What can I say, it’s impossible to go just once and not have the urge to go again! A real metropolitan oasis, it goes without saying… fresh from the more “fire hot” and dynamic Tortona district.
