In the third episode of the International Chef Cup – #ICC15 – Italy vs Thailand, Isa Mazzocchi (La Palta, Piacenza) and Prin Polsuk (Naham, Bankok) will bring to life an unusual Emilian-Thai duo.
Michelin Star since 2011, defined as “the Chef with a soft balance” by the Corriere della Sera, Isa Mazzocchi was born in Borgonuovo in 1968. After a diploma from the Alberghiera di Salsomaggiore school and two years experience with the Chef Georges Cogny, she begins to plan a new restaurant La Palta, which she still runs with her sister and their respective husbands. From Piacenza and proud of it, Isa is a cook that lives her kitchen and can give flavor and life to her recipes. For her, creativity means giving life to plates to which she know how to give grace and a typically feminine touch. From the country to the international kitchen: her story could be summed up like that.
Born in 1974, trained at the Suan Dusit International Culinary School of Bankok, Prin Polsuk is a sous chef in the Nahm Metropolitan by Como Hotel of Bankok, at the moment the most celebrated Thai restaurant in the world, at 32nd place in the World’s 50 Best 2013 and third of the World’s 50 Best Asia. Chef Polsuk is very careful about respecting Thai culinary tradition. In his restaurant he respects the classic order of the plate service, which is that of the homemade meals and which sees the pairing of more or less spicy plates and the use of a soup at the end of the meal, he also prefers the use of natural products and local ingredients.
