My Good Old Habits – Joys and Peeta

A fascinating new exhibit at the Wunderkammern Gallery

Flawless Milano is proud to be a media partner for the Wunderkammern Gallery’s latest exhibition, ‘My good old habits’ by Italian artists Joys and Peeta.

This exhibit concerns vices and customs which are so commonplace they become part of our daily routine. Processes that we repeat over and over again until they become incorporated into our life to the point that we no longer begin to question them. When we fail to question ourselves, we begin to close off, becoming lazy and fearful of other people’s traditions and routines that could destabilize our own. We fail to open ourselves up to new experiences and thus self-improvement.

The artists in this exhibit, Joys and Peeta, aim to disrupt our sense of personal process using their art and in particular the differences between their art, as a means of establishing a dialogue. Joys, a former writer went on to focus on lettering, eventually building a style of abstraction where letters display strong but harmonious chromatic variations. Peeta, meanwhile, comes from a background in sculpture and industrial design. For Peeta, painting and sculpture are intrinsically linked, reflections of each other and both necessary to understanding light and form.

The Wunderkammern Gallery will present works of Joys printed on glass by Joys and mixed media artworks on canvas Peeta, as well as some works that were completed by the two together.
