Cultural soirée at Babitonga Cafè

The double show of Paolo Castaldo and Teo Manzo at Fondazione Feltrinelli

It’s difficult not to notice the palace of the Giangiacomo Feltrinelli Foundation in Viale Pasubio. The modern building designed by Herzog & de Meuron is one of the most beautiful and surprising in the Porta Volta area, if not in all of Milan. Since its beginnings, the Foundation has wanted to become an urban cultural center to bring art and literature to all Milanese and that is why every Thursday, starting from 11th January, there will be meetings where live music will accompany readings and social events in the spaces of the Babitonga Bar, inside the library of the Foundation.

The cycle will start on the second Thursday of January at 8.00 pm with a double feature: the graphic novel “Allen Meyer”, illustrated by Paolo Castaldi, a meditation on the role of information in a dystopian Milan with steampunk nuances; and that of “Le Piromani”, debut album by the poet and singer-songwriter Teo Manzo, which tells the story of the astronomer Allen Meyer. A dialogue between two forms of expression, therefore, that will move between music and live drawing.

Babitonga Café - Fondazione Feltrinelli

But this will be only the first of many events that will see a varied and, above all, high-quality proposal fill the spaces of the Babitonga, bringing the library of the Foundation to live a new life in the evening where, between a book and a drink, you can be enchanted by the beauty of art. And the other guests of the following Thursday? The bluesman Giuliano Vozella, the eclectic Claudio Niniano and the young and modern Eman.

This initiative reconfirms the Feltrinelli Foundation’s vocation to participate in the life of the city, already pursued thanks to the breadth of its offer that provides the Milanese study areas, a library, screening rooms and the Babitonga Bar, a true gathering center, whose doors are open from morning to evening.

Let’s Twist at Babitonga Café

The Babitonga Café never ceases to amaze us. Both because it combines two of our sacred places (the bookstore and the coffeehouse), and because it has become over time a real cauldron of fun cultural initiatives that are never boring or pedantic. The location is spectacular too: a sort of crystal and steel cathedral that [...]
