I’ll admit: sometimes going to the hairdresser is mostly a pretext for dedicating myself a moment of absolute relaxation. And I can assure you that My Place is the perfect place for pampering even your soul, not just your hair.
Forget the classic and impersonal salons with blaring lights, imposing white, rows of mirrors and identical seats, noisy hairdryers and music blasting. My Place is intimate and inviting, a salon that resembles more a homey sitting room. It is in Via Panizza, area Vercelli, in one of the many stately buildings of the area. In fact, it’s an apartment, which the hair stylist Tommaso Incamicia remodelled transforming it into his studio.
The style is shabby chic and the flavor is a little vintage: a marvelous tile floor with green and black 50s style designs, fake chipped walls, flower wallpaper, wood dressers, mirrors with gorgeous frames each one different from the other, just like the little chairs. The lights are warm and the music is relaxing which puts you immediately at ease, but obviously the surroundings are not enough: the human touch is always what makes the difference. As soon as you arrive, Tommy and his collaborators welcome you as if you were at home, offering you a coffee or an herbal tea to sip in the waiting room all the while listening to your requests giving you personalized suggestions and advice. And from that moment on they continue to pamper you until the moment you leave with a perfect hairdo and a satisfied smile.
My favorite part is the wash, which is done in a dedicated room, appropriately call Room Therapy. It feels like you’re in a spa: massaging armchairs, suffused lighting, perfume of essential oils, soft music and expert hands to massage your scalp… a precious moment to escape from daily stress! The products they use are of the highest quality, with a preference for products with natural ingredients, first of all oils and henna to restructure your hair even while you color it.
So, a unique place in its location, ambiance, hospitality and professionalism which had me from the first visit and which I am sure will conquer you too!
