Without beating around the bush, and not thinking too much about this. N’Ombra de Vin is without a doubt the most evocative place when you think about and talk about wine in Milan. A “holy” place if you consider its origins, in fact it rises in place of the old 1500s refectory of the Agostinian Friars next to the Basilica of San Marco. A vaulted ceiling, with columns, walls and floors in stone, all still original.
But also “holy” and essential for those who like us are looking for an experience. A staff guided by Cristiano Corà, the young owner, who in a few years has been able to transform this place – initially known mostly by the passionate Wine Connoisseurs for its prestigious selection of wines – into a true wine/food/chic meeting spot even for a younger more fashionable clientele.
From work breakfast, to aperitif and right through to dinner, at “N’ombra” (nicknamed by the Milanese) you go to drink (and really well!) of course but also to observe and be observed! Definitely not to be a wall flower… A perfect and complete menu at the bistrot completes the offer of this already impeccable place, transverse for clients but also for the selection of the producers of the wine list.
And so people… “Go, drink and be merry!”
