“We all agree, it’s a small world, but Milan really is a grand Milan!”. Also, or perhaps especially, when you discover that in Milan there are corners that look like Rome, the eternal city, absolutely the most beautiful in the world. One of these corners is the very central Via Brisa: a small and quiet pedestrian street that is located at the beginning of Corso Magenta and where, at number 15, you will find this wonderful place: the historic and charming Ristorante La Brisa.
Ancient remains of Roman walls of what was once an Imperial Palace, now inhabited by colonies of cats, welcome to those who want to stop and enjoy the cuisine of chef Antonio Facciolo, here since 2004. He, together with the exuberant and smiling wife Francisca, Nico, which is responsible of the beautiful wine list, and Matteo, in the dining room, over the years have made this place a favorite destination for many (but not only) Milanese. It takes savoir-faire, in addition to the skill, to be able to make a restaurant over the years a must-go destination.
La Brisa is a comfortable and very romantic place. You cross the entrance door and it seems to enter a popular bar (that has nothing popular about it, you’ll see!) with a counter and tables. On the walls, vintage photos that show how the restaurant was in the last century. You then walk along a long corridor, which metaphorically leads us from the past to the present, and which lets us glimpse the kitchen, the realm of chef Antonio, up to the central body of the restaurant, with elegantly laid tables, design details, light colors and a bright verandsa, overlooking a quiet garden shaded by old lime trees that has been home to a small land turtle for years…
The menu changes with the seasons. All the food is excellent, especially the meats. A must-try is the suckling pig, in the various versions proposed. Many Iberian suggestions, creative recipes and traditional dishes (from lasagna to cotechino) revisited in a lightened key … This is a place where you can enjoy life, better leave the diet at home, and let yourself get carried away for one evening, enjoying the pleasures of the table. Go and try it and tell us! Enjoy your meal!
