The Garden of the Virgins

Chat, talk, laugh with your best friends

In Milan there is a dedicated place reserved for women to relax. The Giardino delle Vergini (the Garden of Virgins) or as it is otherwise known the Garden of Santa Caterina d’Alessandria.

It is located in the Catholic University and is used to access the Aula Magna located at the cloisters. A large stained glass window overlooks the greenery. The gardens have many different types of plants and trees arranged in a well-ordered structure.

There are also columns, a marble slab decorated with masks that were once located in the Duomo, and two medieval sarcophagi dating back to the construction of the university (1497).

Spacious and flowery spaces give you an intimate and exclusive atmosphere, allowing you to leave behind the noise of the city, and even the noise within. Talk about stories, laughs, and the girl power within us.

Giardino delle Vergini

Founded in 1928, the garden is dedicated to St Catherine of Alexandria, virgin and martyr, protector of studies and teaching. This area is exclusively limited to women, and the custodians of the land are authorised to prohibit the entry of any men who intend on violating this rule.

So when you want to find yourself in a place where men can’t infringe on your personal space and your personal thoughts, this is it.

We can't. That's why every week we share the best experiences milan has to offer.
