WILD – Living with plants

From the Scandinavian countries, the first houseplant boutique arrives in Milan

It could be only in Milan. In the city that now, recognized as the fashion capital, is definitely the most innovative Italian center in terms of architecture and design. Now, a concept store entirely dedicated to the plants, opens in via Giuseppe Sirtori, in the heart of Porta Venezia. Calling it a shop would be simplistic: entering in WILD – living with plants is just like entering a Nordic house, on which wooden shelves place books and home accessories.

The interiors are very clear and allow the light to completely invade the environment, transmitting peace and serenity. The name of the place, then, is evocative, it reminds us how important the nature is part of our life and that it occupies the space that is surrounds us. Even the word “wild” wants to mean: the store is an urban jungle invaded by the most varied types of plants, suitable for satisfying highly sought-after tastes.

You can find varieties like the Calathea, with wonderful leaves, and Peperomia. Very striking are the “kokedama”, bonsai suspended, wrapped in a sphere of moss and which are made an ad hoc based on the tastes of customers. The WILD assortment also includes many articles related to the world of botany and its use in indoor gardening and furniture.

The offer ranges between craft pots, furnishing accessories and books and illustrated prints. To unite these objects is their origin: the producers and designers are all highly selected by the owners, Pasquale and Valeria, and the origin of most of the products is organic.

In addition to being a houseplant boutique, WILD is also a place for events and workshops on the green theme, organized in collaboration with SEEDS – a community for greenery, a collective born in 2015 to explore the connections between man and nature. I highly recommend you to visit the store’s website, constantly updated with the programs of the courses that range between different themes, related to the knowledge of specific plants and their use in furniture, such as the workshop on the terrarium in glass carboys or the one on macramé, a textile technique with which it’s possible to build wonderful planters!
